Penfield(2015) argues that cognition is a process involving the acquisitionand use of information. The mechanism of the entire process hadearlier been a debate among different scientists. It indicated that a particular neuroncould be responsible for the particular information.

Theother interesting thing was the fact that medulla was able to holdthe entire brain under captivity. The medulla is responsible forsending information that causes fear among people (Cooper, 2000). It,therefore, means that when many medullas are sent at a time, then theperson becomes much terrified. The situation results in trauma andterrifying dreams. A further experiment was, therefore, necessary totry to control the amount of medulla sent at a particular time.

Alternatively,there was the need to look at the way fired medulla could be reversedwithin the shortest time possible. It would reduce the stress andtrauma that take place after a person has been terrified. It wouldalso make psychologists have better and quicker solutions to thetrauma patients. Most of these patients usually have to undergo alonger procedure for them to heal from the trauma. It means thatpsychologists majorly rely on the fact that the patients could startforgetting the incidences with time. Such mechanisms may not work inunique cases such as that of the lady in the video.

Thematerial seemed to be slightly skewed towards explaining the mannerin which the information is received, processed, and stored. It didnot take the time to concentrate on the reason why some people couldremember more details than others did. However, there was anacknowledgment of the fact that research had not yielded enoughfruit. It is a fact that has been admitted by many neurosurgeons indifferent occasions (Goldberg, 2000).

Moreover,the scientific explanations in the link were not trying to answerreasons behind the uniqueness of the lady. The entire documentary wasvery educative since it concentrated on the scientific explanations.There was a proper balance of the concepts. It is an indication that the brain can handle moreinformation and for a longer period. dddIt also appeared that epilepsy could be handled by just controllingthe movement of neurons. This is a fact that contradicts the beliefthat all epileptic patients have to undergo physical operation. It isan important step towards the healing of these patients.

However,controlling the release of adrenaline was still something that needsmore research. This could help people heal faster from stress andtrauma. The scientist in the video admitted that it is an area thatrequired further study.

Itis interesting to know how the brain operates and the fact thatscientists believe that people who died from diseases that were notcurable at the time of death could be revived in future. A few bodiesthat died of incurable diseases at the time of death are stillpreserved. The preservation is done at a certain temperature withhead facing down. However, none has ever been revived.

Thematerial seemed not to handle the lady’s problem but veryeducative. Although there is still need for further researchregarding the same, it is important to acknowledge that indeedresearchers have done a lot.
