Technology

has transfigured the way individuals live and connect with others inthe globe. Most of the daily aspects that did not require the use oftechnology in the past years are applying it today. Over the fewdecades, the usage of technology has increased significantly. Forinstance, according to the U.S. Census, 76% of family units wereindicated to have a computer in 2011 compared to 8% in 1984. As of2013, 90% of adults in the United States possessed a cell phone(Drago 14). In a TED Talk presented by Amber Case, the use of phoneshas helped in creating an ambient intimacy among individuals.Emanating from this notion, I support the idea that the ability toconnect with anyone at any time increases the depth of how peoplebond with others.

has been capable of transforming lives through changing the livingaspects. In the past, the manner in which people handled things feltlike some part of enjoying life was missing. However, with theexpansion of technology, living has been made better. For instance,if the internet, games, and mobile devices were not there, it couldbe exceedingly difficult to express the way one feels. Many are thetimes when individuals have been in a meeting, but they may not be ina position to show how they think about a particular action, butthrough tools like the social media, they have let their experiencesknown. At times, it may be difficult to explain an inner feeling whenin a face-to-face communication because of the sensitivity of anissue at hand however, through e-mail or posting on social sites, one can make his/her expressions known. Besides, people who do nothave the ability to utter words due to disability have been in aposition to communicate to others through the technological devices. In addition, because of technology, people are in a position to enjoylife since they can listen to music, share funny videos, and dateusing the tools. This has made life more exciting (Walker 1).

Inthe sphere of education, technology has been viewed to be of immenseimportance. From Amber Case TED presentation, she pointed out thatthe growth in technological tools has made it possible forindividuals to connect with anyone at a time that is convenient forthem. As such, it is feasible for learners to connect with theirschooling peers as well as tutors. Nowadays, there is the option ofone becoming educated through online programs. This is an indicationthat people, who could not obtain time to go to schools due to othercommitments such as family responsibilities or work, can now be in aposition to learn. For instance, having the role of a mother and wifemay make a person not enroll for physical classes however, due totechnology, mothers can have the convenience of schooling throughonline courses, where they can connect with teachers and fellowstudents via e-mails and other platforms (Walker 1). Furthermore, scholars have been capable of responding to education positively as aresult of technology. This is because it has been possible toincorporate programs in the curriculum that assist students to have abetter comprehension of the concepts being taught.

Communicationbarriers have been removed with the increasing technological tools. In the past decades, it was hard to pass a message to another personwith ease since the means of getting in touch could not support fastcommunication (Walker 1). This meant that, if one desired tocommunicate with colleagues or friends, he/she could not have kept intouch quickly. However, with the emergence of different social tools,it is feasible to pass any idea easily. For instance, although aperson may not be physically present, it is possible to share withfamily members as swiftly as possible and keep relationships strong. Also, individuals who are in a long-distance association can maintaintheir connections through sharing constantly using the socialnetworking platforms. Thus, it has been practicable to eliminateinteraction barriers through the growth in technology, a move thathas helped to keep connections intact.

Throughtechnology, it has become possible for individuals to shareexperiences or their opinions. This has been deemed crucial since ithas hastened the process of decision-making (Drago 14). Most of thetimes, friends, workmates, spouses, or business partners may need tomake haste decisions concerning a given situation. In such acircumstance, it would be vital for the parties involved to sharetheir views quickly regardless of the distance that may be amid them.Technological devices have made this realizable since people mayphone call, text, or even chat using the different media. Forinstance, one can be capable of connecting with his/her familythrough video chats regardless of the part he/she may be in theworld. As an example, working fathers who travel to differentcountries because of work reasons have been able to bond with theirwives and children through technological tools. In addition, becauseof technology, one can communicate to different individuals at thesame time, which is beneficial in eliminating errors that may emergein reported communication.

Inconclusion, technology can be indicated to increase the wayindividuals connect with others. With the expansion of technology, living has been made better. For example, it has been made feasiblefor individuals to keep in touch despite their distance, and peoplecan express their ideas anytime. Because of technology, nowadays, there is the option of one becoming educated through online programs.Alternatively, it has helped in removing communication barriers. Inthe past decades, it was intricate to pass a message to anotherperson with ease since the means of getting in touch could notsupport fast interaction. In addition, individuals who do not havethe ability to utter words due to disability have been in a positionto communicate to others through the technological devices.
